Rallying Together for Diabetes Awareness Month

November is Diabetes Awareness Month. But for families like mine who live with type 1 diabetes every day, awareness doesn’t stop when the month ends. It’s something we live, breathe, and build around every single day.

Leading up to this month, I’ve been thinking a lot about what awareness really means. It’s not just about sharing statistics or wearing blue ribbons. It’s about understanding what life with diabetes truly looks like. The daily highs and lows, the decisions that never stop, and the mental and emotional energy it takes to stay in balance.
Awareness also means listening. It means recognizing that everyone’s experience with diabetes is different, and that support looks different for everyone, too. Whether it’s checking in on a friend, learning what hypoglycemia actually feels like, or simply carrying empathy into a conversation, those small acts of awareness can make a big difference.
At Rally Higher, we’re doing what we can to bring awareness and support every single day. This month, and every month after, we’re rallying together to share stories, raise awareness, and create something better for the diabetes community. Because awareness is only the beginning. What truly matters is what we do with it.
